Our first stop was in the little village of Dildo, nestled in a southeast arm of Trinity Bay.
Other than being famous for its curious name, it has a nice harbour and a microbrewery capitalizing on the town's name. Not sure if they sell more T-shirts or beer?
We travelled onward along the Trans-Canada Highway passing by towns such as Come by Chance, Little Heart's Ease, Goobies, and Clarenville. Before arriving at our destination of Trinity, we took a detour south to New Bonaventure. There is a movie set there from the series "Random Passage".
We did another side trip to visit the lighthouse at the entrance to Trinity Harbour. I had a nice conversation with the Lighthouse Keeper, one of 23 still remaining in Newfoundland and Labrador.
There were some nice views of Trinity from across the bay.
We arrived around 3:00 pm to pick up the keys to our apartment, next door to the Catholic church.
An old salt box house that had been renovated into two apartments, we were in the bottom floor. Quite cute, 100% lined in real pine boards.
The town has a permanent population of 169 but I would guess they are greatly outnumbered by tourists. Many of the houses are rentals. Quite a stunning (for the size of the place) Anglican church which dominates the town.
We spent some time exploring the narrow streets and laneways, stopping for a drink at a waterfront restaurant.
We had a full kitchen here so after indulging on some expensive restaurant meals for the last few nights, we decided to cook our own supper.
After dinner, I ventured out for some evening photography.
